The GCK is a self-governed cultural institution established in 1982. It organises festivals, reviews, concerts, and art workshops of national and international relevance.

The GCK’s activities have for many years been at the source of the city’s and region’s artistic events map, in response to the inhabitants’ cultural needs. Within the GCK’s organisational structure you can also find the Dušan Jurkovič Polish-Slovak House in Gorllice, which promotes the Polish-Slovak borderland’s cultural heritage, as well as six neighbourhood clubhouses located within the city. The Gorlice Culture Centre’s instructors also conduct music, drama, visual arts, and dance classes in Gorlice schools and kindergartens.
